Sorry for the Long Down Time

I know I’ve been gone a long time now, but back in August of 2009, I was diagnosed with Type-4 Rectum Cancer. I had an operation in late-January of 2010, and have spent the last 8 months recovering from the after-effects of the operation. It’s funny how a life-threatening thing like that changes your priorities. Right now I am undergoing my second round (and hopefully last round) of chemotherapy. After over a year of treatments, it has become exhausting as my body does not have the reserves it once did.

The business I had built up over the last 10-years has pretty much died with me being gone. So as I begin to reconstruct the rubble that was my business, I find myself in the exciting place of being able to start from ground-zero, and build the type of business I should have built when I first got started in this wonderful world of Network Marketing. While I won’t be starting right away…since just walking across the street gets me exhausted, I can now see the day when in just a few months, I can re-boot my business…I figure around January or February of 2011.

Since this will be a big reboot, I foresee that this blog might change direction and actually offer a day-by-day dialogue (or maybe a week-by-week dialogue) of what I do, how I do it, and when I do it. That way I can help the novice MLMer know exactly what is required to make a living doing this stuff we do.

What NOT to Do at an Opportunity Meeting

Okay, I saw this video from Todd Falcone, and I figured since this blog is supposed to be a place where MLMers can learn what to do (and what NOT to do)…then this video would great as an “anti-example” of all the things people do wrong when they present their opportunity.

“The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich”

I came across an interesting eBook the other day called: “The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich” by Brian Kim. I have been a life long fan of Napoleon Hill’s classic tome. I have read it cover-to-cover hundreds of times. I, like most of you fellow readers, have scratched my head and struggled with what exactly is the hidden secret that Napoleon Hill talks about throughout the book. Mr. Hill drops the clues like rain drops in a summer rain….namely, all over the place. Here are some examples:

“In every chapter of this book, mention has been made of the money-making secret which has made fortunes for more than five hundred exceedingly wealthy men whom I carefully analyzed over a long period of years.”

“If you are ready to put it to use, you will recognize it at least once in every chapter.”

“Somewhere as you read, the secret to which I refer will jump from the page and stand boldly before you. If you are ready for it! When it appears, you will recognize it.”

“If you are ready for the secret, you already possess one half of it.”

“..may I offer one brief suggestion which may provide a clue by which the secret may be recoognized? It is this-all achievement, all earned riches, have their beginning in an idea!’

I have thought numerous times that I finally found the secret Mr. Hill talks about, but each time I re-read the book I came to slightly different interpretations to what the ‘secret’ really was. The problem of this is that until I actually could figure out what this secret was, I could never be sure if I was actually using it to accomplish my goals.

Brian Kim’s e-Book, “The Hidden Secret in Thnk and Grow Rich“, clears up a lot of the concerns I had, and has helped me to harness the power that is referred to in Napoleon Hill’s classic. I can’t urge enough to everyone I know that they need to grab this book ASAP!
